المصدر الرسمي: The Democrats: Reservists (PDF)Recruitment and service
Our central goal is clear: to reduce the number of reserve days to only 21 to 30 a year, while strictly and broadly preserving border security and as part of the conclusions of October 7.
Conscription for everyone.
- •Enforcing the conscription duty and ensuring public money does not fund evasion.
- •Setting binding recruitment targets that will bring thousands of new recruits every year to combat and combat-support roles, by drafting thousands of Haredim and expanding the conscription of additional populations.
Changing the benefits model: fair, certain and simple compensation for every reserve day.
- •We will merge the funds of all benefits, with a significant budget addition, and transfer about NIS 1,000 to combat soldiers for every reserve day (with a varying scale for other roles by combat level), on top of salary compensation.
- •Self-employed reservists will receive special benefits, loans and state-guaranteed grants to rehabilitate their businesses.
- •The program's cost is about NIS 10 billion a year, an amount that will decline as we approach the target of 21–30 reserve days a year.
Security and foreign policy
Closing the war fronts and bringing reservists home.
- •As long as the fighting fronts are open, reservists will be called up again and again.
- •We will work to close the fronts and stabilize regional alliances: a security agreement with Syria and Lebanon, an alternative government to Hamas, and the entry of a stabilizing and enforcing international force in Gaza and Lebanon instead of the IDF holding the territory.
- •Closing the fronts and creating the required security arrangements will improve the security of Israel's citizens, allow the IDF to return to training and bring a dramatic easing of the need for reserve call-ups, alongside strict and broad preservation of border security.
Evacuating outposts and farms to reduce the defense burden in Judea and Samaria.
- •We will evacuate the farms and outposts the government set up, with emphasis on outposts that cause friction, are linked to Jewish terror incidents and harm the state's security.
- •In this way we will reduce the defense burden on IDF soldiers, free up forces and cut the scope of reserve call-ups.
- •Forces will be allocated according to security considerations, not political pressure.
Health
A resilience and rehabilitation basket for reservists and their families.
- •We will redefine the contract between the state and those who serve it, by consolidating responses and removing barriers.
- •We will consolidate all responses into one framework that will save the bureaucratic runaround and answer the varied needs.
- •We will institutionalize a broad response to the mental needs of all war casualties, including reservists and their families.
- •We will advance accompaniment programs for returning to the labor market and professional responses for processing combat experiences and preventing deterioration.
- •We will set clear standards for the various responses to ensure reservists receive a professional, effective and comprehensive response for integration and return to life.
