Yashar! for Growth from Crisis and Building National Resilience

  • •We intend to heal the wounds and ensure growth out of the hardship and the trauma.

Getting on the Straight Path!

  • •The Yashar! party presents a new national plan for post-trauma rehabilitation and for building national resilience – a plan whose aim is to treat trauma, return people to full, stable and functioning lives, and rebuild the personal, family and community resilience of Israeli society.
  • •Yashar! will act to turn the breaking point into an opportunity for growth and for building personal and national resilience. The education, health, security and service systems will work together to build personal, family and community resilience – proactively, without waiting for the problem. The response will be given in real time, in an accessible manner and without barriers, and will enable everyone who was harmed to receive treatment and rehabilitation.
  • •This is how we will establish the State of Israel as a society that protects its borders, and the ability of its citizens to live full, stable and safe lives.

A national program for preventing states of stress and providing tools for building resilience

  • •We will promote and budget a national program to raise awareness and provide coping tools to the entire population, to be carried out in the existing frameworks: schools, the IDF, reserve duty, academia and workplaces. We will invest in personal resilience – through education and guidance. In the Israeli reality, processing and building resilience are essential components in the life of every citizen. In this way we will make a gradual shift from a reactive approach to a preventive approach.

Returning control and choice to the patient

  • •We will guarantee every patient the right to choose his or her rehabilitation track. We will train professional workforce, and incentivize existing therapists to expand the scope of their employment, while expanding the range of treatment options, creating and making accessible a list of all the certified therapists in the various bodies, and emphasizing the patient's right of choice, as a critical part of rehabilitation from trauma.

Rehabilitation in the community

  • •We will operate rehabilitation and support systems close to home, in close cooperation with the local authorities, so that it is accessible and convenient for every citizen and raises the chances of recovery. The rehabilitation track will include continuous follow-up that is updated according to the patient's condition, in order to create a national 'safety net' that prevents treatment from being cut off at critical stages.

Assessing effectiveness and updating the response according to the public's needs

  • •We will set national goals and track the indicators of actual rehabilitation success – a return to work and study frameworks, family life and community. The state will not measure only how much money it spent on services, but how many people actually underwent rehabilitation and returned to functioning. In this way we will draw lessons, update policy and make required changes in real time.

Society and welfare

Establishing national rehabilitation administrations – with emphasis on the north and the south – under a national authority

  • •We will establish rehabilitation administrations that will lead the national programs – for the north and the south, and for Israel as a whole – and serve as a single address. The north and the south will be defined as areas with a high level of exposure to trauma, and in them a systemic response will be given in formal and informal frameworks on a regular basis, individually and communally.
  • •We will make sure that every citizen receives a personally tailored response, exercises his or her rights, receives proper legal support and does not fall between the cracks. We will appoint a minister who will be in charge of rehabilitation, removing barriers, dismantling bureaucracy and making the treatment system more efficient.

Continued support for IDF dischargees

  • •We will ensure a response is provided to whoever needs it. Every person discharged from the IDF will be entitled to support and treatment if he or she needs it, to possibly prevent the development of post-trauma and to save the required bureaucratic process, as a continuation of the response received during service.

Expanding the response to support bereaved families, siblings and close circles

  • •We will expand the circle of those eligible and ensure full exercise of rights as part of the support process for bereaved families.
